Last week, our three-year-old kindergarten class (K3) uncovered the rich history and culture of Mexico. Mrs. Phyliss, our K3 teacher, created a hands-on learning experience with the class by inviting Mrs. Garcia, our 5-year-old kindergarten teacher, and her daughter, Anely to come to share about Mexico with the class.
Anely wore an authentic Jalisco dress and lead the class in how to perform the Mexican hat dance. While Mrs. Garcia brought an authentic serape (shawl/blanket worn as a cloak ), a hand-painted clay cup along with many other crafts handmade in Mexico.
They wrapped up the lesson with a feast of rice, beans, cheese & tortillas. K3 had so much fun learning about Mexico!
