JUNIOR HIGH / HIGH SCHOOL: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM; Fridays, 8:00 AM -12:30 PM

Question: What is the student/teacher ratio?

Answer: The ratio of students to teachers is 16:1 for K5, 18:1 for 1st - 6th grade, 25:1 for 7th - 12th grade. 

 

Question: What is your dress code?

Answer:  We adhere to a relaxed Dress code that exemplifies modesty and neatness. Fridays are Spirit Days. Students wear jeans and Gateway spirit shirts. Download a copy of the dress code.

Question: What sports do you offer?

Answer: Yes, we offer Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Track & Field, Swim, Golf, and Volleyball

Question: Do you require students to have parking permits?

Answer: No, students can park on campus in designated areas.

 

Question: How do 7th - 12th-grade students get a locker assignment?

Answer: Students come in at the end of the Summer before school starts to receive their locker assignments.

 

Question: Are all of your teachers degreed or certified?

Answer: Yes, all of Gateway's teachers are degreed or certified.

 

Question: What percentage of your students go on to college?

Answer: We are pleased to report that 95% of Gateway students proceeded to college.

 

Question: How often do you have chapel services?

Answer: Students attend chapel once a week. Chapel services are available via our live stream on the GCS YouTube channel.

 

Question: Do you have a closed campus?

Answer: Juniors and Seniors are allowed to leave campus for lunch.  All other grades have lunch on campus.  Visitors must be approved through the administration.

 

Question: Can students buy their lunch?

Answer: Students can bring their lunch, or they may buy a lunch from our full-service cafeteria. Lunch tickets are available for purchase lunch on Ren Web, the Parent Login website, or they may send money with their child. 

 

Question: Is your school Accredited?

Answer: We are accredited through the State of New Mexico and ACSI.

 

Question: Can students use cell phones at school?

Answer: Students are not allowed to use cell phones during school hours.

 

Question: When my child is absent, do I need to call into the school?

Answer: Yes, whenever a student is absent, you must call the office by 9:00 AM to report their absence.
